  Job Description

Environment: On site for a month and then hybrid (3 days on site & 2 remote) – must be flexible

Work week: Mon to Fri -Flexible (Core hours 9:00am to 5:00pm)

 

Summary:

  • Prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, including dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information.
  • Team player and detail oriented. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Knowledge of relevant computer application, such as CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting). 

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment. Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
  • Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computer-assisted equipment.
  • Position instructions and comments onto drawings.
  • Design scale or full-size blueprints of specialty items such as furniture and automobile body or chassis components.
  • Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials.
  • Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
  • This position is going to mainly support NPD projects. 

Must Haves:

  • 5-7 years experience required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Creativity, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work cross functional teams, analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Creo Parametric Skills: (Creo 4 preferred)
  • Sheetmetal
  • Steel tubing for framework, copper tubes
  • Drawing/Detailing
  • General 3D modeling
  • Assembly management.
  • Ability to be onsite when needed by project teams to work with prototypes and team 

Nice to haves:

  • Familiarity with Windchill or similar PLM system
  • Structuring BOMs
  • Releasing BOMs
  • Experience with GD&T and Stackup analysis
  • Experience with Creo Simulate
  • Experience with Plastic design (Surfacing)
  • Experience with Casting design
  • Industrial, transportation industry experience
