Research Associate I

  • We are seeking a Research Associate I to be part of a team focused on gene therapy for neurological diseases, in the Genomic Medicine Unit of Client. The successful candidate will play a key supporting role in the analysis of gene therapy strategies targeting the central nervous system and ensure successful translation of pre-clinical gene therapy programs to a clinical setting.

 

Must-have skills/requirements:

  • Experience with basic molecular biology and biochemical procedures such as DNA, RNA and protein extraction and quantification
  • Ability to follow established procedures/SOPs on the above techniques
  • Timely execution and analysis of experiments and analytical procedures.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize concurrent experimental procedures.
  • Integrate, compile, and clearly document work and assist supervisor in the analysis and interpretation of the results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite - Word, Excel, Powerpoint

Preferred experience

  • previous experience in a biotech/pharma environment.
  • Experience with high throughout DNA/RNA extraction, qPCR -based and/or ELISA-based methods.

Other:

  • Looking for candidates with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Candidate will contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects from multiple groups. Excellent communication skills are essential. May provide oral presentations on results to other department and/or lab members.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Bachelor of Science degree preferred
  • 0-3 years of experience, undergraduate experience can be counted towards the years of experience
  • Masters degree and Ph.D. level candidates would be considered overqualified, this is an entry-level position
