  Job Description

Mon to Fri (8:00am to 5:00pm)

Hybrid (3 days in office & 2 remote) – In office for 5 days to start

 

Summary:

Design, develop, test or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems.

 

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test the manufacture of electrical equipment, including machinery controls, wiring, and lighting.
  • Evaluate the cost effectiveness, reliability and safety of certain design models. Estimate time and cost to complete projects.
  • Simulate and test machine/structure/system operation. Investigate and test vendors’ and competitors’ products.

 

Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):

  • Develop electrical sub-systems/components of new product development projects.
  • Work with internal and external resources to build strong understanding of transport industry trends and APU applications.
  • Leverage engineering principles and application knowledge to develop new and innovative design ideas focused on electrification, connectivity, user-experience, and improved system efficiencies and reliability.
  • Apply systematic problem-solving skills to identify failure modes, develop solutions, and validate design improvements of electrical and electromechanical issues.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with product management, test, software, modeling & simulation, field personnel, manufacturing, and suppliers.
  • Develop and execute test plans (component and system level) for reliability, durability, performance, and safety.

 

MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of electrical and/or systems engineering experience, would consider candidate with 1 year of exp and previous internship
  • Excellent communication skills (Verbal & Written)

 

Basic understanding: of the following

  • Working knowledge and/or experience in low-voltage electrical systems, components, and power electronics.
  • Hands-on proficiency using electrical tools and instrumentation to perform testing and gather data.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems, including hardware and software.
  • Strong hardware skills for robust design, prototyping, and testing of electrical systems.
  • Strong communication skills to lead design reviews, communicate risk, and collaborate with other groups on system design.
  • Able to collaborate with designers to develop drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams for service use.

 

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with automotive systems preferred
  • CAN protocol experience
