Senior Scientist, Systems Neuroscience

Position Responsibilities:

In the role as a Senior Scientist within the Systems Neuroscience group, the ideal candidate will:

  • Utilize existing human datasets relevant to aging/neurodegenerative disorders to explore/design new validation studies for digital biomarker development.
  • Work closely with the Systems Neuroscience lead to evaluate external potential partners (contract research organizations, start-ups, academics, consortia, foundations) for quality of work, data analysis and delivery, determining high priority digital data collection activities.
  • Aid in developing relevant scope of work and contracts to support the above efforts.
  • Aligning with the Systems Neuroscience team, design and oversee implementation of translational activities in proof-of-concept clinical studies conducted by clinical program teams.
  • Provide guidance on clinical and nonclinical biomarker data analysis to Global Biometrics, and Informatics and Predictive Sciences.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations within client and externally.
  • Develop/maintain knowledge of the current literature, propose novel concepts and targets.
  • Publish in scientific journals and present in scientific meetings as aligned with the Systems Neuroscience objectives.

Experience 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7 years of academic and / or industry experience Or
  • Master’s Degree
  • 5 years of academic and / or industry experience Or
  • Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in the Life Sciences
  • 2 of academic and / or industry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s, Physiotherapy, Kinesiology, Data Analytics or Statistics Degree and 5 years of academic and / or industry experience or D.O, M.D, Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in the Life Sciences and 2 years of academic and / or industry experience
  • Embraces being highly accountable for timelines and deliverables
  • Solid understanding of the principles of clinical study design and execution
  • Detailed knowledge and track record (as evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals) in biomechanical modeling of human function, especially movements
  • Familiarity with and strategic use of methodologic approaches for analyzing individual and population-based datasets so as to inform feasibility and proof-of-concept study designs
  • Experience in scaling models as soon as there is conviction of value added
  • Significant experience developing written proposals, scope of work and contracts to support collaborative research; successful track record of obtaining research grants
  • General understanding of drug development
  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills
