Cloud Optimization Engineer in US-Remote

Hybrid: Remote, with the exception of critical in person meetings.

Hands on, Azure is a must

Responsibilities:

• The Cloud Optimization Engineer will be responsible for maximizing the efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness of the cloud infrastructure and services
• This includes identifying opportunities for optimization, implementing cost-saving measures, and continuously monitoring and improving our cloud resources
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud computing, infrastructure optimization, and cost management, as well as hands-on experience with Azure
• Analyze cloud usage and spending patterns to identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize cloud resources, including rightsizing instances, leveraging instance reservations and Savings Plans, and optimizing cloud storage and networking configurations
• Monitor cloud Infrastructure performance and utilization, proactively identifying and resolving performance bottle necks and inefficiencies
• Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud provisioning, deployment, and management processes
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure cloud resources are aligned with application requirements and performance goals
• Stay current with cloud technology trends, best practices, and cost optimization strategies, and make recommendations for improvement
• Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams on cloud optimization best practices and tools
• Prepare and present reports and recommendations to management on cloud optimization initiatives and cost savings opportunities
• Assist the Cloud Infrastructure team on tasks pertaining to that team

Qualifications

• Strong technical expertise in Azure, including proficiency with cloud services and management tools
• Hands-on experience with cloud cost management and optimization tools such as Azure Cost Manager and Azure Advisor.
• Solid understanding of cloud architecture principles, best practices, and security standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and identify optimization opportunities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
