  Job Description

QA/QC Technician - Ames, IA

  • This position will work primarily in a physical wet chemistry lab for our seed treatment and crop protection production facility.
  • This position would be responsible for:
  • Inspection of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods using established test methods
  • Calibration and maintenance of lab equipment
  • Effective communication of batch results to the appropriate personnel
  • Reporting of non-conformances related to quality
  • Generation and maintenance of records related to product quality
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Laboratory testing to support Quality Analyst on day-to-day projects
  • Secondary support maybe needed to assist in our microbiology lab at times as well. The additional duties may include:
  • Preparation of media for use in both laboratories
  • Microbial Testing and Plate Reading
  • Assist in plant swabbing program
  • Autoclaving of glassware and solutions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to distinguish colors
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong team player
  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP or other manufacturing software experience preferred.
  • Previous Quality Control experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry OR Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with 1 year of experience with wet chemistry lab techniques.
