Agile Delivery Manager

 

Background

  • The IT Department is looking to contract an Agile Delivery Manager (ADM) to manage the continuous delivery of value for one or more initiatives aligned to the Bank’s Portfolio roadmap.
  • The ADM will be responsible for planning, leading, organising, and motivating agile teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in line with the Bank’s standards.
  • The role will be based within the IT department, which is located in the London headquarters building.
  • The ADM will work closely with other staff in the IT Department and business areas, developing working relationships to build cross functional teams.
  • The role interacts with staff of all levels up to senior management.
  • They will be required to coordinate multiple workstreams to ensure there is a clear pipeline of work to be delivered.
  • The ADM acts as a key contact point for the initiatives and will report to Associate Director for PAM and will also have a matrix reporting to Principal, Agile Delivery Manager.
  • Will work in tandem with the Programme Management Office (PMO).

 

Scope of Services

  • Champion agile delivery methodology and help build understanding and capability across all teams.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner(s) to build a clear roadmap for delivery, aligned to value
  • Facilitate cross-functional groups to plan and deliver initiatives – identifying which methodology best fits the needs and style of the team.
  • Make sure initiatives are appropriately resourced with the skills and expertise to meet their needs.
  • Coordinate multiple work streams to ensure there is a clear pipeline of work to be delivered next.
  • Identify and mitigate risk and blockers to successful delivery including when necessary, the development of contingency plans.
  • Manage, monitor and measure workflows to ensure value is delivered early and often.
  • Take a pragmatic approach to capability building, adapting to different business needs or styles.
  • Manage key internal stakeholder relationships to ensure the delivery of these initiatives.
  • Management of the initiative budgets
  • Reporting of progress and the escalation of issues and risks to the stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the delivery of key documentation to the resources involved and stakeholders including the test plan, testing reports, go-live approach documents and the closure reports.
  • Responsible for driving the initiative through any required governance and controls, ensuring alignment with current processes and committees.

 

Deliverables

  • Continuous Delivery of these initiatives into production with full sign-off by the Product Owner and Bank’s governance.
  • Ensure that all necessary supporting documentation and governance evidence is produced and signed off by the relevant service managers and change control procedures are followed through all phases of delivery.
  • The ADM shall work under the direction of the AD Capability Lead & Product Owner on all activities as specified in the above section “Scope of Services”.
  • As a deliverable the consultant will ensure this scope of services is successfully transitioned to a Core Bank teams or Third Party Provider and the knowledge transfer complete.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Computer science or experience in relevant field.
  • Certified Scrum Master

 

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience of managing, complex multi-national, multi-team, agile at scale Developments in a challenging environment
  • Experience of championing agile delivery practice within an organisation.
  • Knowledge of Scrum, Kanban and lean methodologies coupled with a deep understanding of the principles of agile and the processes behind effective product delivery.
  • Skilled communicator – able to flex style between coach, adviser, manager and challenger.
  • Collaborative worker – able to work closely with leadership and other teams.
  • Effective relationship builder with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Keen interest in coaching – ability to engage, motivate and deliver change to create an iterative and evidence driven mindset.

  • Resilient – with the ability to stay the course to embed an agile culture
  • Experience of managing dispersed teams
  • Good understanding of the procurement process including negotiation with third partie
  • The ability to understand technical issues at a detailed level but explain them in non-technical manner
  • A proven track record in delivering continuous value within agreed constraints.

 

Specialisms Required:

  • Proficient knowledge of Privilege Access Management (PAM) and Joiner Mover Leaver (JML) processes is essential.
  • Additionally, a solid understanding of the ServiceNow process and its integration is required.
