The position is based in Mississauga, Ontario (Canada).

 

Summary:

  • The “Data and Analytics - Computational Science” section of Client is seeking a highly motivated computational biologist/bioinformatics scientist with strong prior experience in single-cell and transcriptomics/genomics analysis.
  • The successful candidate will work within cross-functional and matrix teams within Client Research and Early Development to support discovery of targets and development of therapeutics aimed at treating diseases in the immunology space, including Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).
The Opportunity

  • Analysis of public and internal bulk and single-cell RNA data to support specific therapeutic hypotheses, target and biomarker discovery and development of novel therapeutics
  • Computational assessment of single cell omics technologies for implementation in clinical trials
  • Evaluating mechanisms of non-response to standard-of-care therapies in IBD

Who you are

  • PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, or related field with 3-5 years of experience. Post-doctoral or industry experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in R and Python and demonstrable experience in single-cell and genomic analyses
  • Strong record of impactful contributions to scientific research
  • Familiarity with core concepts of cellular biology and immunology. Prior experience in IBD or other immunological indications is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to work collaboratively in cross-functional and matrix teams.
