Office Location: 314 West 90th street, Minneapolis, MN

  • The Embedded Software Engineer position is critical to success of company's core  products.
  • We are focused on the transportation of food, pharmaceuticals, and  perishables; delivering efficient and reliable transportation solutions.
  • The Embedded Software Engineer will work on the creation of embedded software that will support multiple refrigeration and mobile HVAC applications.
  • The Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and capturing  requirements, writing software, coordinating integration with battery electric vehicle manufacturers.
  • You will be assisting with the gathering and documenting of technical requirements and integration criteria.
  • You will be responsible for writing software to integrate the  application with the hardware.
  • You will work with other team members and leadership to ensure  customer satisfaction and contribute to the development and execution of the business and  portfolio strategy.
  • This role is an exciting role to gain software and battery electric vehicle integration skills in our organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with engineers, battery electric vehicle manufacturers, and system engineers to define,  document and drive completion of integration projects.
  • Serve as voice of customer to the team and bridge knowledge gaps between technical  needs, written requirements, existing software and battery electric vehicle manufacturers’ requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the team and battery electric vehicle  manufacturers.
  • Creating modular software which interfaces between two control systems and is deployed  on an embedded controller.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Embedded Systems Development
  • Experience with Linux based embedded systems development
  • Implementation of CAN J1939 communication protocol
  • Ability to use professional CAN analysis software such as Vector CANalyzer
  • Experience with ARM processors
  • Python, C, and C++ programming skills with debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with a Model Based Software Development process. Using MATLAB/SIMULINK and stateflows to build software and debug
