  • MS in life science with 1 - 3 years of experience or BS in life science with 4 - 6 years of experience in biotech/ biopharma industry
  • Handling animals and restraint, Subcutaneous (Sub Q) Injections, blood collection, tissue collection, surgical skills a plus
  • Experience with Injections
  • Willing to engage in surgical training, previous experience a plus!
  • Excited about Science, wants to grow in this profession

Duties:

  • We are seeking a Senior Research Associate to join the Genomics Medicine Unit at Client and play a role in executing in vivo studies to develop best in class gene therapies.
  • The successful candidate will support in vivo experiments to help with the development of gene therapy and other strategies addressing neurologic, neuromuscular, rare blood, renal and metabolic diseases and participate in the successful translation of pre-clinical gene therapy programs.

 

Specifically, the successful candidate will be able to:

  • Lead the execution of rodent pharmacology studies that evaluate gene therapy candidates
  • Develop and perform research involving various animal laboratory techniques including administration, behavioral testing, tissue/blood collection and helping with animal imaging
  • Manage several experiments simultaneously and execute in a time sensitive manner
  • Communicate and coordinate with other scientists on the project team to draft, finalize, and implement study protocols. Follow protocols, standard operating procedures and independently execute tasks
  • Collect and record data.
  • Prepare a summary of experimental procedures and results and present data in team meetings and across disease areas to support the Genomic Medicine Unit at large

Qualifications:

  • MS in life science with 1 - 3 years of experience or BS in life science with 4 - 6 years of experience in biotech/biopharma industry
  • Prior experience designing pharmacological testing in various animal models with behavioral, biochemical and physiological endpoints
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in multiple delivery routes of administration into mice and rats as well as an understanding of behavioral analysis tools with mice and rats
  • Strong background experience with rodent tissue collection and tissue collection techniques
  • Demonstrated surgical experience with mice and rats or the willingness to learn multiple surgical delivery techniques is strongly preferred for the successful candidate
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas, document research and work in a collaborative environment
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the USA
