Schedule :- CST – Day shift during training period. Schedule will then be on alternating 2 week schedule to 12 hours shift: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday on week 1, then Wednesday and Thursday week 2)- we need someone who is very flexible.

Candidate should have for the job :- Steel toe boots, Long Pant.

Location:- DEA Background Screen Required

Description

  • We are looking for a Microbiologist II to perform a variety of tasks in a manufacturing laboratory setting.
  • Duties typically consist of preparing sterile media, sterilizing laboratory tools, shake flask inoculation and monitoring, direct microscopy, plating, and adhering to clean room protocols.

Job Functions

  • Assist with general lab duties which include but are not limited to: preparation of sterile growth medium, stock solutions, and reagents, as well as general lab cleaning and dishwashing.
  • Perform aseptic sampling of manufacturing process.
  • Perform direct microscopy and plating while adhering to clean room protocols
  • Prepare, inoculate, manage shake flasks using aseptic technique.
  • Prepare samples for analysis and analyze samples using a variety of analytical instruments such as a microscope and spectrophotometer.
  • Enter process and analytical data into Microsoft Excel.
  • Provide experiment coverage, as needed, on evenings and, occasionally, weekends.
  • Participate in safety initiatives within the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree in a science field such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, or related field.
  • Laboratory experience via academic or prior position(s).
  • Capable of independent work, but seeks clarification, as needed, prior to starting tasks to provide deliverables.
  • Display good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of standard safe laboratory practices and a commitment to working safely.
  • Competency in aseptic culture techniques.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the set-up and operation of lab-scale bioreactors.
