Actual Job Title: Rates Analyst

Work location: Hybrid (worksite will be Newark)

Work onsite on average of 2 times per week.

Candidate must have 3-5 years' experience

Intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Possible assignment extension based on business needs

A bachelor’s degree is required for this position, but the HM will consider candidates without a degree, but they must have 3-5 years’ experience plus utilities experience.

Duties:

  • This person will handle tasks assigned by other Principal Rate Managers, which may include comparison analysis, document handling, and related matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of cash receipts; prepare daily reconciliation.
  • Assist in preparation of project budget requests.
  • Assist in coordinating input to SAP for program budget and other budget development activities.
  • Prepare project work orders and completion reports.
  • Assist analysts in maintenance of budget forecasts.
  • Assist in development of monthly budget variance reports.
  • Develop, maintain and issue various reports and logs (such as budget spreadsheets, logs and reports, cost trending graphs.)
  • Maintain files on budget and projects.
  • Prepare special reports and programs as requested by management and analysts.
  • Maintain incoming correspondence.
  • Develop and maintain budget database applications.
  • Prepare files for record retention.
  • Assist Accounting group in corrective action in accounting transactions.
  • Ensure Company resources are used in a cost-effective manner.
  • Participates in continuous improvement planning and implementation in area of responsibility. Recognizes problems and is proactive in helping to resolve them.

Requirements:

  • Experience in both Accounts Payable and Receivable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting.
  • Project controls experience (tracking/analyzing project costs, budget development, contingencies, using spreadsheet, database and graphics).

Experience Levels:

  • Intermediate: Typically has up to approximately 4 years of experience performing this specific job function and requires some managerial oversight/direction.
  • Advanced: Full knowledge of related concepts. Typically has at least 4 years of experience performing this specific job function and requires minimal managerial oversight/direction.
  • Expert: Full knowledge of the function. Demonstrated ability to apply concepts to the functional area and see big picture impact of actions. Typically has approximately 7+ years of experience performing this specific job function and requires very limited managerial oversight/direction.
