  • Must have cost accounting experience
  • Good understanding of Efficiency & Production Variances or Standard Costing of Inventory
  • Must have 2 - 5 years experience

 

Duties:

  • We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join our manufacturing facility.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing cost information related to labor, inventory, and operational expenses, while collaborating with multiple departments to provide effective cost tools.
  • This role also includes supporting budget and forecast reports, preparing journal entries, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and collect cost data associated with labor, production variances, inventory, efficiency, TE, indirect materials, and other organizational expenses.
  • Assist in preparing budget and forecasting reports.
  • Support the month-end closing process, including preparing journal entries.
  • Assist with annual and ad-hoc standard cost rolls.
  • Maintain and manage fixed assets and submit capital expenditure requests.
  • Reconcile inventory accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Provide documentation for audit compliance and requests.
  • Collaborate with various departments to educate and deliver cost tracking tools.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant, or in a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and basic formulas).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong time management and ability to work independently.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience tracking efficiencies, direct labor hours, production variances, and inventory evaluation in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with fixed asset management and journal entry preparation for manufacturing plants.
