Construction Project Manager in Oakbrook Terrace, IL

Hybrid Role: M/F , Tues-Thur in office (9-3 core hours- flexible on start and end times)

Must have skills: Excel power user, Power BI knowledge, Construction project manager experience in Oil/Gas

Does NOT need: Utility experience, IT experience, PMP.

• We are seeking a Mid-Level Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage various construction projects from inception to completion.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, effective project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with a team of contractors, architects, and engineers.
• This role will require managing project timelines, budgets, resources, and ensuring quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution:

• Coordinate project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and on-budget project delivery.
• Prepare and manage project documentation, contracts, and change orders.

Team Management:

• Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and construction teams, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
• Ensure all team members follow safety protocols and company policies.

Budget & Cost Control:

• Develop and maintain project budgets, monitor expenses, and prepare cost reports.
• Manage procurement and ordering of materials and equipment.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
• Resolve project-related issues promptly and effectively.

Quality Control:

• Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards and meets all regulatory requirements.
• Conduct site inspections to verify the quality of construction and adherence to plans.

Communication & Stakeholder Management:

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates to senior management, clients, and other stakeholders on project progress.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in construction project management or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification.
• Experience in [specific type of construction, e.g., oil & gas, Heavy industrial, transportation or infrastructure projects
