Electrical Rework Technician - Proto Build

 

Top 3 must-have HARD skills:

  • Soldering experience

  • Soldering 01005 size component
  • iPhone disassemble experience
  • Python scripting

   

Summary 

  • We are looking for an experienced electrical technician with excellent hand soldering skills with the ability to work with fine pitch and small package components.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Work with the electrical engineering team as well as other cross-functional groups within Client.
  • Help to build prototypes, primarily by assembling, reworking and troubleshooting PCBs.
  • Support engineers in troubleshooting failures to find root causes.
  • Navigate PCB layout files and schematics and create detailed rework instructions if necessary.
  • Assist with scaled prototype assembly and small pre-production units in varying numbers, as well as electronic component addition/modification/replacement as needed.

  • Adapt to a daily changing statement of work
  • Prioritize and balance multiple tasks to complete a given statement of work
  • Reach out to responsible design engineers for troubleshooting, clarification, and feedback
  • Willingness to propose and implement process improvements to increase production efficiency
  • Proficient use of text, photos, and videos to clearly convey assembly processes to others with close attention paid to spelling and grammar to ensure findings are accurately communicated to others within the organization
  • Seek feedback for continuous improvement

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of related experience in small engineering labs.
  • Ability to rework, repair and modify SMT down to 01005 package size using microscopes and camera-based inspection equipment.
  • Proficient debugging, optimization and problem solving skills with power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, microscopes.
  • Basic understanding of analog/digital circuits.
  • Familiarity with OrCAD/Allegro and other EE hardware design programs.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Excellent computer skills and familiarity with PC Microsoft Office, MS DOS, database applications.
  • Experience with ADB/Python scripting, ability to debug scripts.
  • Past prototype or assembly line experience, particularly in small electronics or devices.
  • Passion, diligence, integrity, and exceptional aptitude.
