Job Title: Telecom Project Manager

Contract only.

( location cannot be in the states of California, Colorado, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, New York, Oregon or Washington at this time.)

Accountability Objective

  • As part of the Operational Technology Networks team, this position will have responsibility to lead projects delivering communications supporting the Long-Term Infrastructure Improvement Projects (LTIIP) in client’s PA and NJ Operating Companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the communications track of projects to deploy monitoring & control to substation and line devices
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders – including operating company representatives, contractors,network architects, specialists, engineers, and technicians
  • Deliver communications-related projects on-scope, on-schedule, and on-budget

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Associates Degree in a computer science, technology, engineering or business-related program along with 2 years related work experience. In lieu of a degree, 4 years of related experience required.
  • Related work experience includes, but is not limited to: knowledge of IT Project Management methodologies; experience in complex, technical projects; ability to utilize Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word.
  • Experience developing detailed schedules for a portfolio of projects with various individual milestones
  • Experience running projects to establishing communications to field devices
  • Understanding of underlying communications technologies including fiber (outside the plant), digital microwave, field area networks, SCADA/RTU communications, routing & switching
  • Experience coordinating project activities with contractors, subject matter experts, network architects, etc.
  • Project management certification a plus but not required
  • Familiarity with general engineering documentation and an electrical background is preferred
  • Strong project management education, skills, and/or background
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn new concepts in information technology, learn the characteristics of new systems and update skills to adapt to changing technology
  • Detail-oriented, motivated, focused, and hard-working
