During the first month, the role will require onsite presence five days a week. Once the candidate becomes proficient, the schedule will transition to three days onsite and two days


Summary

  • The Mechanical Designer will demonstrate utilization of the PTC suite of design and PLM programs (Creo and Windchill) to design and layout mechanical and electrical systems.
  • The designer ensures proper form, fit and function while improving product performance, reliability, safety, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads and assists engineering in new product development design solutions as part of the phase-gate process
  • Develops and designs mechanical parts and assemblies, as well as 3D harness routing using Creo Schematic and Pro/CABLE
  • Creation of 2D harness drawings
  • Work from oral or written engineering instructions, procedures, schematics, drawings, and sketches
  • Develop, communicate, and present design concepts
  • Understanding of Design failure mode and effects analysis and tolerance analysis
  • Prepare Engineering documentation, bills of material and change notices
  •  Provides design support for current production products
  • Conduct product and component revisions as needed
  • Collaborates and communicates cross functionally
  • Interacts with vendors, service personnel, and outside engineering resources
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Technical Associates Engineering Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in Creo Schematic and Pro/CABLE or other relevant CAD software
  • Strong written and verbal skills with ability to follow written instructions
  • Advanced utilization of PTC PLM system (Windchill) with working knowledge of PDM Link
  • Must be customer driven and quality minded in performing all assigned duties
  • Must be able to function in a technical engineering team environment
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple, varied tasks simultaneously
  • Must be able to adjust to changing demands, priorities and objectives
