Position Title:   Seasonal Quality Assurance Plant Monitor Technician
possibility of extending their contract up to 2 years depending on their performance.

Looking for candidates who want to work second shift (5:00 PM – 5:30 AM) Monday – Friday with occasional Saturdays. They must be ok to work in plant setting (environmental setting cold/hot temperatures).

Position Objective: 

• This position is accountable for performing day to day testing of seed at the site.
• Key emphasis will be placed on the accurate testing of cottonseed quality before, during, and after processing to ensure high quality planting seeds.
• This includes but is not limited to conformance of standards and appearance ratings.
• This includes daily interaction with other Site Supply personnel to produce and deliver the finest quality seed possible.
• Position will periodically work in the QA Lab for fuzzy seed testing.

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Monitoring quality of seed.  (Immature, cracks, seed color, and etc.)
• Monitor cleaner, gravity tables, and color sorter to desired setting.
• Conduct appropriate seed quality tests in lab.
• Perform calibration and document on proper forms.
• Testing for the acid concentration on seed.
• Enter and ensure accurate information in the plant monitoring daily spreadsheet.
• Conduct sampling of bagged and bulk seed as directed.
• Conduct appropriate seed quality tests in the QA Lab at plant.
• Follow lab procedures to produce accurate results.
• Perform Seed Count for production settings.
• Confirm production equipment settings (printhead) before each variety.
• Check off on final production to ensure it meets quality to ship out.
• Inspect and document transport vehicles before authorizing warehouse to load.
• Fill out paperwork required to perform task at work.
• Ensure information is entered in the plant monitoring correctly.
• Assist with variety cleans to prevent cross contamination.
• Assist the Shift Supervisor as directed.
• Assist in other areas of the site as needed.  (Seed returns, shipping of finished goods, delinting, treating etc.)
• Maintain good housekeeping practices.
• Maintain the seed equipment.
• Cross-training in the Cottonseed Quality Assurance Lab as needed. Must be comfortable working in both lab and plant setting.

Primary Responsibilities (continued): 

• Follow all OSHA safety rules and regulations to promote a safe working environment (e.g., Confined Space procedures, LOTO procedures, Climbing Ladders, etc…)
• Participate and retain safety training and apply with daily operations.
• Work closely with other team members to make sure quality of work and quality of seed being produced is the best in the industry.
• Performs other duties as directed by the Site Manager, Plant Manager, Shift Supervisor or designee.

Preferred: Quality Assurance experience, Agriculture background
