Job Description
- The primary responsibility of this site-based role is to develop, coordinate, and implement environmental, health, and safety improvement programs, elevating facilities to best practice standards and promoting safety throughout the organization within the scope of responsibility.
Summary
- Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of specific safety programs as assigned by management comply with existing and anticipated federal, state, local and company regulations.
This position will be responsible for:
- Performing assigned EHS activities to comply with company’s technical standards, IME policies, and site procedures.
- Provides general support for ABC EHS staff on safety programs as assigned, as well as assisting staff with other EHS initiatives.
- Assist with response to incidents, lead incident investigations and support organization in identifying and implementing corrective and preventative actions. Communication lessons learnt across the organization.
- Conduct routine inspections, create corrective action plans and facilitate completion with business owners.
- Conducts and risk assessments to align with Company GEHS requirements and to reduce injury/illness potential and overall risk to Company.
- Reviews Company ABC Standard Operating Procedures to assess risks inherent to their constituent process steps.
- Directly engages operations and other general staff on procedures and operational processes and their associated hazards to better assess risk potential.
- Participate in cross functional teams to represent EHS objectives and meet the team’s overall objectives and deliverables.
- Ability to interact and communicate with multiple levels in the organization and external regulators or auditors.
- Company internal requirements include compliance with ethics, environmental health and safety, financial, human resources, cGMP procedures, general business policies, requirements and objectives.
- The incumbent must be willing to take temporary assignments as required.
Education and Experience:
Minimum requirements for this position are:
- Education- Bachelor’s Degree (EHS related, Engineering) plus 3 years of EHS related experience.
- EHS related experience in manufacturing or laboratory environments is preferred.
- Certification- ASP, CSP, CHMM or other EHS related certification preferred but not required.
Experience:
- Technical- 3 to 5 years’ experience in technical operation of some general aspects of an environmental, health, and safety program.
- Systems- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Regulatory- 2 years’ experience in GMP/Manufacturing facility
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.
- General understanding of regulatory requirements (29 & 49 CFR, OSHA, ISO45001)
- Ability to data interpretation and independent problem solving.
- High level of proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint and written communication
