  Job Description

1st Shift: M-F. 5:30am to 2:00pm. Optional 4am starts and Saturday work semi-frequently.

This is a position in a laboratory setting

Target start date is ASAP

 

INTAKE NOTES:

Position Overview:

  • The role is entry-level, involving tasks like visually inspecting materials, labeling products, and maintaining cleanliness. Basic computer skills are required for training purposes.

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Preferably some manufacturing experience, but not mandatory.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Candidates with master's degrees are often overqualified and tend not to stay long-term.
  • Prefers candidates with manufacturing experience but is open to hiring recent high school graduates.
  • Avoids candidates with a history of frequent job changes, although understanding that previous roles being temp contracts of limited time. Multiple short stints in roles (e.g. ?4 months in multiple roles)
  • The position is a temp role, with a 6-month contract. Potentially conversion spots but no guarantees.

 

Interview Insights:

  • Candidates should present themselves well.
  • Prefers in-person interviews to provide a facility tour and a better understanding of the job.
  • No need for candidates to have steel-toe safety shoes for the interview, but they will need them for the job. A voucher will be provided if someone is hired.

 

Challenges Noted:

  • Difficulty with candidates who do not speak English, as communication is crucial.
  • The need for candidates to fit well within a small team and have a good personality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.

  • Weighs, measures, and verifies raw materials and parts.
  • Perform manual manufacturing tasks.
  • Assists in operating basic to fully automated filling equipment.
  • Uses basic laboratory equipment: scales, balances, pipettes, etc.
  • Follow and foster a safe work environment.
  • Maintain accurate and complete training record.
  • Understand and execute written procedures, manufacturing records, and logs.
  • Housekeeping and cleaning of manufacturing laboratory/area.
  • Assists with material handling, stocking of lab, and assigned daily lab responsibilities.

  • Sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Lifting/moving and carrying products weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and/or moderate noise levels.
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals or other materials.
  • Safety Shoes with Impact and Compression Protection Must be worn.
  • Exposure to blood.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School/GED and 0-2 years related experience.
